Headline snowfall numbers read smaller here than at the coastal Hokkaido resorts, and that is worth internalising before reading the rest of the page. Sitting inland and east of the main storm track means a 5 to 10 cm overnight often skis like 20 anywhere else; the snow is cold and the base stays dry between storms. The variable is the morning low. If the forecast shows minus 10 or colder at the base with light winds, even blue-sky days will hold soft snow in trees and on shaded aspects. Worry less about the storm headline and more about whether the cold high stays parked over central Hokkaido.
