Welcome to Japow.travel (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Japow.travel (“Japow.travel”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) set out the rules for using our Site, content, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using Japow.travel, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

1. About Japow.travel

Japow.travel is an informational website focused on skiing and snowboarding in Japan. We publish resort reviews, Japow Scores, travel tips, guides, comparisons and related content to help you research and plan your own trips.

We do not operate any ski resorts, accommodation, transport services, or tour companies. We do not sell travel products directly. Any bookings you make with third parties are subject to their own terms and conditions.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Site.

3. Eligibility

To use the Site, you must:

Be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian; and
Have the capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

4. Use of the Site

Unless otherwise stated, all content on Japow.travel — including text, images, graphics, logos, icons, videos, reviews, ratings (including the “Japow Score”), and overall design — is owned by or licensed to Japow.travel and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

View the Site for your personal, non-commercial use
Share links to our pages on social media or via messaging, provided you do not misrepresent our content or imply any sponsorship or endorsement

You may not:

Reproduce, republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit our content without our prior written permission

5.2 Accuracy and Availability

We aim to keep information accurate and current, but:

Snowfall, pricing, opening dates, lift operations, terrain access, and travel details can change quickly
Our reviews, Japow Scores, and recommendations are based on limited time on the ground, available data, and our own judgment and experience

We do not guarantee that:

The Site will be available at all times or free from errors
All information is complete, accurate, or up to date

You are responsible for verifying critical details (such as resort opening status, avalanche conditions, travel requirements, and prices) directly with official sources before making decisions.

6. No Professional Advice

The content on Japow.travel is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute:

Legal advice
Financial advice
Medical advice
Safety or avalanche training
Professional guiding advice

Skiing and snowboarding — especially off-piste, in trees, or in the backcountry — involve inherent risks, including serious injury or death. You are responsible for:

Assessing your own skill level and fitness
Choosing appropriate terrain and conditions
Obtaining and using proper equipment
Checking avalanche and weather forecasts
Seeking professional instruction or guiding where appropriate

You should always follow local laws, resort rules, and guidance from qualified professionals.

These Third-Party Services are not owned or controlled by us.

We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any products, services, information, or conduct of third parties.

You should carefully review the terms and conditions, privacy policies, and cancellation policies of any Third-Party Service before booking or making payments.

8. Affiliate Disclosure

Japow.travel may contain affiliate links. This means:

If you click on certain links and make a booking or purchase, we may receive a commission or referral fee, at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our resort reviews or Japow Scores. We do not sell positive coverage.

We aim to clearly disclose affiliate relationships where required by law.

9. User Content (If Enabled)

From time to time, we may allow users to submit reviews, comments, photos, or other content (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content, you:

Grant Japow.travel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Site and our business; and
Represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights and permissions to grant this licence, and that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any laws.

We may remove or edit User Content at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor all submissions.

10. Prohibited Conduct

Without limiting anything above, you agree you will not use the Site to:

Harass, abuse, or harm others
Post or transmit content that is defamatory, hateful, obscene, or otherwise objectionable

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Japow.travel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement
Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the content
Continuous, secure, or error-free operation of the Site

Your use of the Site is at your own risk. You assume full responsibility for any decisions you make based on the information provided.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Japow.travel and its owners, contributors, partners, and affiliates will not be liable for any:

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will be limited to the greater of:

AUD $100; or
The amount you have paid to us (if any) in connection with your use of the Site in the 12 months prior to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Japow.travel and its owners, contributors, partners, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

Your breach of these Terms
Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party
Your User Content (if applicable)

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia, and any courts that may hear appeals from those courts.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the Site.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will continue to apply.
